Gary
had his account deleted on Sunday August 24th 2008 without notification
from anyone on photoSIG. We are not sure why they chose to delete
Gary's account since he did not have access to it. Gary was under
suspension for agreeing with a few of the words first posted on this
website. The
frozen account had just a few pictures in the collection, one being his
dearly departed wife Ali. Everyone in the photoSIG administration knew
Gary's had spent the last months comforting his wife as she was dying of
cancer. He spent many hours with her in Hospice and was with her when
she passed on a little more than a month ago. The man has gone through
great pain this summer watching his soul mate and friend losing the
battle that ravages of cancer cause. That made no difference to the
person or persons who chose to delete his old account. I wonder if
Willis knew? He dared to agree with this site was his crime. It is beyond me how some one could do that to a person after what Gary has been through, but it is the reality many have been talking about for some time about photoSIG and the administration. I am sure someone had a reason, I wish they would have at least emailed Gary telling him they planned on doing it. Seems heartless to just delete his account without warning him or telling him it was going to be done. A site member since 2002. So next time before you speak or say something
in a open forum on photoSIG think about it. Free respectful speech is
not always welcome, not even in a open forum post. It would seem Gary's
account was deleted out of pure spite. We can see no other logical
reason someone would have removed it without telling Gary. He has been
vocal about being suspended but to my knowledge he has not been running
around bad mouthing photoSIG except in his blog. I guess that is
against photoSIG's TOS but I could not locate it in any of the terms. Gary belongs to 8-10 other photo websites where he has not had the same problems as he had experienced on photoSIG. Gary is and has been a well respected photographer and member of numerous photography websites. I know having his account on photoSIG bothered him at the time But he just seems to be with a growing number of people who either have been ban or no longer want to be part of the daily activities on photoSIG. Gary will surely be missed.
